Christopher Hummer

Christopher R. Hummer is the Chief Executive Officer of US Acute Care Solutions. A transformational healthcare leader known for his inclusive, collaborative approach that strengthens organizations, Mr. Hummer has nearly 30 years of proven experience in hospital, provider, and payer organizations.
Prior to joining USACS, Mr. Hummer served as CEO and Plan President of the Oregon and New Mexico markets for the Centene Corporation. In New Mexico, he was responsible for all financial, operational, strategic, and clinical activities of Centene’s plans. In Oregon, he led the transformation of numerous Medicaid and Medicare initiatives. Notably, he significantly improved employee engagement in Oregon and achieved annual operation plan (AOP) for the first time in plan history in 2020 and 2021.
Prior to his role at Centene, Mr. Hummer was a senior executive in the Atrium Health System for 14 years, serving as both a President of three hospitals and the leader of the system’s 18 emergency departments. Before joining Atrium, he was a CEO, President, and COO of three hospitals in the Tenet system in Missouri and Georgia. Mr. Hummer began his healthcare career as an executive in multi-specialty physician groups in Minnesota, California, and Texas.
Mr. Hummer earned his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and his Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Kansas.
