Mark Escott MD
Emergency Physician
Mark Escott, MD, serves as the Chief Medical Officer and EMS System Medical Director for the City of Austin, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Division of Emergency Management. Prior to his current role, Dr. Escott served as the Interim Health Authority for both the City of Austin and Travis County and as the Medical Director for Austin Public Health from 2019-2021. He has academic appointments as EMS Fellowship Director, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at The University of Texas–Austin Dell Medical School, and as a Senior Lecturer in Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia. Dr. Escott is board certified in Emergency Medicine and subspecialty board certified in EMS. He has published numerous articles, abstracts, papers, and presentations related to EMS, disaster management, and public health.
