- The separate Pediatric Emergency Center (PEC) is staffed by pediatric emergency medicine physicians
- Admission rate: approximately 19%
- Saint Francis hosts the only Children’s Hospital in the region
- The PEC has 23 treatment rooms that include two resuscitation rooms, 16 general medical monitored rooms, and five fast-track monitored bays. There are two triage stations and a separate lobby for pediatric patients and families.
- Resident education site for six residency programs including emergency medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine
- Plans to establish a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program
