San Diego, Calif., October 1, 2018 – US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) today announced L. Anthony Cirillo MD, FACEP has received the American College of Emergency Physician’s (ACEP) award for excellence in health policy, the Colin C. Rorrie, Jr., PhD Award.

The Colin C. Rorrie, Jr., PhD Award, named for ACEP’s executive director from 1982-2003, is presented annually to a member who has made a significant contribution to achieving ACEP’s health policy objectives, or who has demonstrated outstanding skills, talent and commitment as an administrative or political leader.

Dr. Cirillo is the Director of Health Policy & Legislative Advocacy for USACS, a position he has held for the past 14 years. In this role, he has represented USACS in a variety of organizations and coalitions in the healthcare system reform arena. In addition to his work as Director of Health Policy, he works clinically in both Rhode Island and Connecticut and serves as the local emergency department medical director for the Pequot Emergency Department in Groton, CT.

I am grateful to ACEP for the opportunity to advocate on behalf of my emergency medicine colleagues and our patients. There is no separating health care from health policy, and so our involvement as physicians is as critical in government as it is at the bedside.
