Dr. Linda Lawrence Honored for Lifetime Achievement at ACEP Scientific Assembly

US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) today announced Col (Ret.) Linda Lawrence MD, CEP, FACEP has received the American College of Emergency Physician’s (ACEP) highest award for service, the John G. Wiegenstein Leadership Award.
The John G. Wiegenstein Leadership Award, named for a founding member and first president of ACEP, is awarded annually at the ACEP Scientific Assembly, held this year in Las Vegas.
Dr. Lawrence is the executive vice president organizational and cultural integration for USACS, and a past president of ACEP. A recognized academician and clinician, Dr. Lawrence has served more than two decades as an emergency physician and physician executive in the United States Air Force. She was recognized by ACEP for her years of extraordinary leadership in emergency medicine.
I am most grateful to ACEP for this award, and I am equally grateful to the Air Force for its unwavering support of my involvement with the college. Everyone benefits when physicians step up and serve worthwhile organizations like ACEP – employers, physicians, and most importantly, patients.

As a leader in ACEP, Dr. Lawrence served on the Board of Directors from 2002-2009 and was elected to every office, culminating as president and then chair. Her legacy as president was her ability to set focus, propel the organization into the national media spotlight and strengthen advocacy.
Her career highlights include roles as associate professor and commandant, Uniformed Services University School of Medicine; chief medical officer at David Grant Medical Center; chief of the department of emergency medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center; Air Force Medical Service chief consultant for emergency medicine; deployed deputy hospital commander in Balad, Iraq; hospital commander (CEO) at Aviano Air Base in Italy; director of healthcare operations for the Air Force Medical Support Agency; and most recently, special assistant to surgeon general of the Air Force for Trusted Care Transformation.
Dr. Lawrence received her medical degree at Temple University and completed her emergency medicine residency at Geisinger Medical Center.

Dr. L. Anthony Cirillo Elected American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) President-Elect
