Scott Felten Named Interim Program Director for Summa Health Akron Emergency Medicine Residency Program

CANTON, Ohio, January 6, 2017 – US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) today confirmed Summa Health System of Akron, Ohio, named Scott Felten MD, FACEP, interim program director for its emergency medicine residency program.
Most recently, Dr. Felten served as residency director for USACS. In this role, he worked with the residents and residency programs at all nine USACS graduate medical education facilities. Dr. Felten joined USACS in 2008 and worked clinically at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and in the Mercy Health System in Cincinnati. Previously, Dr. Felten served as an assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. Before that, he was a member of the Emergency Department staff at Akron General Medical Center and later served as the medical clerkship director, associate program director, and medical director of the Akron General Medical Center Emergency Department in Stow, Ohio.
Dr. Felten graduated from the University of Nebraska with a B.S. in biology in 1993. He completed medical school training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1997. He served as the chief resident of Emergency Medicine at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio and completed the program in 2000.

Dr. L. Anthony Cirillo Elected American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) President-Elect

US Acute Care Solutions Names Dr. Kelly Abbrescia Regional Vice President of South Division
CANTON, Ohio, August 19, 2024 – US Acute Care Solutions (USACS), the nation’s largest physician-owned emergency and inpatient medicine practice, announced today that it has named Kelly Abbrescia, DO, MMM, FACEP, a Regional Vice President of its South Division. Most recently, Dr. Abbrescia served as the Medical Director at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City, NC. Throughout her career, Dr. Abbrescia has held numerous leadership roles, notably serving as the System Medical Director at Bayhealth Medical Center prior to joining USACS. She also served as a Major in the US Army at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, after completing an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) fellowship. President of the USACS South Division, Brandon Lewis, DO, MBA, FACEP, FACOEP, said, “Dr. Abbrescia has been highly impressive in her short tenure with us, and we expect great things from her as she steps into this role for our division.
