About USACS
The Chair, Emergency Medicine is the executive physician responsible for quality and the operational effectiveness of all Summa Health System emergency departments and is responsible for setting the strategic direction of all emergency services. This position will also work closely with the Chief Nursing Officer along with the Chief Medical Officer, Summa Health System Hospitals to ensure compliance with all clinical and quality related elements of emergency services and metrics that contribute to the overall quality scorecard including the Hospital Star rating.
The Chair, Emergency Medicine is the executive physician responsible for the support of the Hospital Medical Staff of Summa Health System. This position will assist the medical staff and Summa Health System management in fulfilling their obligations to collaboratively provide high value and quality hospital care.
The Chair, Emergency Services will partner with nursing leadership to ensure efficiency, maximize throughput, and maintain high quality patient care. Will also participate in education and training of all provider and nursing staff to ensure adherence to evidence based practice to ensure optimal patient safety principles.
This position will support the Emergency Medicine Program Director and faculty in achieving compliance with all ACGME program requirements.
Collaborate with the Vice President of Medical Education/Designated Institutional Official in achieving compliance with all ACGME institutional requirements.
