• 10 treatment rooms plus four behavioral health beds
• New ED facility to begin construction in November 2022
• Level II ED has lower acuity, community-type patient pathology with approximately 10 percent admission rate
• Established referral programs to other local hospitals when necessary
• Meditech EMR with Dragon dictation
• Resident and medical student ED rotations include family medicine, psychiatry, podiatry, pharmacy, orthopedic surgery and transitional year
• 24/7 psych resident in the ED
• Hospitalist service handles approximately 95 percent of admissions
• ED ultrasound
• Rapid radiology reads and lab results
• Well-equipped department includes Glidescope, slit lamp

Erie sits on the south-central shores of Lake Erie, directly between Cleveland, Ohio; Buffalo, NY; and Pittsburgh, PA. It features beautiful established suburban and urban communities, including lakeside developments and tree-lined streets with Victorian homes. These neighborhoods are close to excellent public and private schools. There are abundant recreational options. The area is host to semi-pro and professional sports, such as Seawolves baseball, the Otters - Ontario hockey league and the BayHawks NBA development team, just to name a few. There also is a nearby NASCAR track. Local collegiate sports include Gannon University, Mercyhurst College, Edinboro University and Penn State-Behrend.

Outdoor recreation opportunities include Presque Isle State Park beaches, the Seaway Trail along the lakefront and a variety of ski resorts in the area. The region also is famous for growing grapes and produces the third-largest amount of wine in the United States. The Erie International Airport provides daily flights and connections for convenient travel.
