Erin Brockovich Set to Speak at the USACS Women’s Dialogue Series During ACEP 2017

Dr. David Seaberg Named Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Summa

US Acute Care Solutions and Summa Health Name Dr. David Seaberg Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Summa CANTON, Ohio, September 7, 2017 – US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) and Summa Health today announced the appointment of Dr. David Seaberg as chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Summa. Dr. Seaberg brings more than 25 years of emergency medicine experience, leading numerous clinical and academic departments and developing multiple residency programs. In his role as department chair, Dr. Seaberg will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction for all clinical and non-clinical aspects of Summa’s emergency medicine program. This includes new initiatives in the treatment of patients and programs aimed at enhancing patient experience. He also will lead Summa’s work in restarting its emergency medicine residency program in collaboration with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Concurrently, Dr. Seaberg will work with the seven other USACS emergency residency programs to ensure and improve world-class graduate medical education at USACS. Prior to joining Summa, Dr. Seaberg held a variety of clinical and academic positions locally and across the nation. Most recently he worked at the University of Tennessee, where he served as chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine, the inaugural dean of the College of Medicine and a professor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Surgery. I’m honored to join organizations the caliber of USACS and Summa Health and to have an opportunity to return to the community where I practiced and taught early in my career. I look forward to getting to better know the community and to helping bring back a successful residency program at Summa Health. |Dr. Seaberg, MD, chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine Dr. Seaberg also has held multiple positions at the University of Florida, where he was associate chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and a professor of emergency medicine in the College of Medicine. In addition, he has experience working at the MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh and Erlanger Health System. He also is credited for his involvement in starting five emergency medicine residency programs, including those at the University of Tennessee, University of Florida and MetroHealth Medical Center. Dr. Seaberg is a Fellow and past president of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned his B.A from Washington University in St. Louis and his M.D. from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Healthcare group to manage intensive care services for Dignity Health – California Hospital Medical Center

Successful management of the hospital’s emergency department leads to expanded role (CONCORD, CALIFORNIA, USA) VEP Healthcare, Inc. (Operating as US Acute Care Solutions as of June 2021) has contracted with Dignity Health – California Hospital Medical Center to manage the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU). In addition, the group will continue tomanage, as it has for six years, the hospital’semergency department services. In the ICU at California Hospital Medical Center, they will manage multi-specialty teams that deliver collaborative, coordinated intensive care. Intensive care consists of specialized medical and nursing services provided to patients facing life-threatening illness or injury. About 80% of all Americans will experience intensive care services either as a patient, family member, or friend during their lifetime. Examples of conditions requiring intensive care include heart attack, trauma cases, poisoning, surgical complications, premature birth, and strokes. Margaret R. USACS Adds Additional Integrated Acute Care Partnership with MetroSouth Medical Center

US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) today announced a new Integrated Acute Care partnership with MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, IL. USACS’ unique model of Integrated Acute Care brings emergency medicine and hospitalist services together as one team with one purpose: seamless, quality patient care across the entire acute care episode. The new partnership will begin September 1, 2017. USACS has been providing emergency medicine management services to MetroSouth since February 2016. Hydari Named Vice President of USACS Southwest

US Acute Care Solutions is pleased to announce that Dr. Irfan Hydari has been named Vice President serving the central portion of USACS Southwest. As a regional vice president, Hydari will provide medical and administrative leadership necessary to support the efforts of individual site medical directors in the region. In collaboration with the leadership and staff of USACS Southwest, he will oversee the quality and effectiveness of each medical director while providing the resources and direction needed to improve overall departmental performance at each location. Since 2012, Hydari has served as the emergency department medical director at Seton Medical Center Austin, where he also serves as a member of the Medical Executive Committee. As chair of the Seton Emergency Services Network Clinical Care Council, he has overseen the implementation of many evidence-based quality initiatives. Hydari joined USACS in 2007 and served for four years as the ED medical director at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. During his tenure in Cedar Park, Hydari implemented innovative methods to improve customer service. He also served as the interim ED medical director for another USACS facility, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound, when it opened in 2010. He is a graduate of USACS’ Leadership Academy, for which he has also served as a faculty member. Hydari is one of three regional vice presidents who will report to Cheryl Conner, president of USACS Southwest. “I am looking forward to working together to continue to deliver the very best care to our patients and service to our hospital partners,” Conner said. Hydari earned his bachelor’s degree from Trinity University and received his medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Science Center. He completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. In addition, he earned an Advanced Professional Certificate in Health Services Management at the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Outside the ED, Hydari serves as a board member for the HealthStart Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on creating healthier communities through early science-based health education.
